By default Windows 9x does not require a valid user name and password combination for a user to create and use a local Windows machine. Such feature allows unknown user to penetrate to your computer when it is undesirable. This functionality can be change to require this validation or any additional password may be assigned for more security. These options are applicable to Windows 95/98/ME only. Use the Boot Options to do this. The key option is (click it): Require Users Validation for Windows Access. After setting up these options you need to reboot your computer for they to come into force. For more security, you may disable booting from diskette in the system setup of your computer.
