Microsoft fully understands how important security is in NT's marketing and is aware of the success of past attacks on NT. Therefore, the company has taken a new and proactive attitude toward security, as evidenced by its services and products. For example, Microsoft started both the Security Problem Response Team and Microsoft's internal tiger team. The products include not only a comprehensive set of fixes in NT 4.0's Service Pack 3 but also the forthcoming Security Configuration Editor in Service Pack 4. And a host of new security enhancements is coming in NT 5.0. Microsoft has also been active in encouraging third-party developers to create supplementary security support products for NT.
