While NT 4.0 is generally secure, its lack of an enterprise directory service makes it hard to administer. In order to correct these problems and better position NT as an operating system that can safely handle intranet and extranet security problems, Microsoft will introduce several new security improvements in NT 5.0. Since NT 5.0 is still unreleased and these features are still under construction, we provide only an abbreviated description of these planned enhancements. In general, they apply to both NT Server and NT Workstation.
