You increase the risk to your system security when you let administrators connect to servers over the network. GartnerGroup therefore recommends a policy of not allowing remote NT administration. However, it's simply not realistic or practical to require administrators to be physically present at each computer they administer. In some circumstances, an administrator's presence is necessary, but I don't agree that allowing remote administration is a serious security risk. If you don't think remote administration is necessary or desirable, remove the Access this computer from the network from the Administrators group.
